(1921-1991) Папп, ДжозефНастоящее имя Йосл Папирофски [Papirofsky, Yosl]. Видный театральный деятель. В 1954 основал труппу, занимавшуюся постановкой шекспировских пьес в Нью-Йоркском шекспировском театре [ Public Theater/New York Shakespeare Festival], дававшем представления в Центральном парке [ Central Park]. Стал одним из ведущих вне-внебродвейских театров [ Off-off-Broadway]. В 1967 основал Публичный театр [The Public Theatre], на сцене которого впервые были поставлены мюзиклы "Волосы" [ Hair] и "Кордебалет" [ Chorus Line, A]. В 1973 Папп возглавил труппу театра "Вивиан Бомон" [ Vivian Beaumont Theater] в Линкольн-центре [ Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts].
